Read tarysande’s fic “A Handful of Dust”. It’s still in progress, but damn if it isn’t a heartwrencher…hell, just read her shakarian fics in general, because they are amazing and well written and GAH.
I’m not normally a fanfic reader, but hers are really, really amazing, and her characters are very canon.
My emotions have been oddly close to the surface lately…
